《巴比倫5號第一季》劇情簡介
The actors were never told in advance what was in store for their characters. Each new episode was just as much a surprise for them as it was for the viewers.
故事的背景設定在公元2257年，人類已經突破光速，開始大規模星際旅行及在太陽係附近殖民，與多個外星文明接觸並有貿易聯係。一天，一艘地球聯邦的星際驅逐艦在探索未知星際空間的時候遇到一艘不明星船，因為誤判對方意圖而先敵開火。對方叫明巴利外星族（Minbari），比人類早進化發展幾千年，其技術人類無法望其項背。不巧的是地球星船孤注一擲先敵開火的時候把灰色議會議長杜哈的給幹掉了（那位老兄其實知道按大設計藍圖，明巴利必須與地球人聯合並融合，這次到這裏也不是閑逛，而是準備與地球人第一次親密接觸）。於是明巴利對地球開戰，摧枯拉朽所向披糜，在對地球本土最後一擊的過程中，明巴利卻突然停止進攻並宣布投降。總之，停戰後地球出資在中立空間建設“巴比倫空間站"，致力星際交流、談判及和平合作。前麵四座都被摧毀或莫名其妙消失，於是有了巴比倫5號。巴5軍頭Sheridan和明巴利大使笛嵐（Delenn）帶領眾嘍羅，聯合火星殖民地抵抗力量反對地球聯邦通過謀殺政變而上台的獨裁總統，聯合各外星文明反擊神秘黑暗種類——影族（Shadows），向佛隆人（Vorlon）說不，最終走上獨立自主自力更生的發展文明道路。
